Fruit Tree Planting In Dambai
The heart of our project lies in planting fruit trees in over 4,212 households across Dambai. Popular species like mango, guava, avocado, orange, lemon, coconut, cashew, and soursop will be distributed and planted. Each household will nurture at least one seedling, creating a green blanket over the community.
Our team has launched a groundbreaking initiative to restore Dambai’s environment by planting fruit trees across 4,212 households, directly impacting over 43,576 people. This marks the first step in transforming the Oti Regional capital into Ghana’s Fruit Capital and addressing food insecurity in the community.
FRUIT TREE PLANTING IN DAMBAI

THE IMPORTANCE OF FRUIT TREE PLANTING
Dambai’s once lush green cover was lost due to the creation of the Volta Lake, deforestation, and population growth. This environmental decline has resulted in food shortages, soil erosion, and climate stress. Fruit tree planting provides food, income, biodiversity, and shade—restoring what has been lost.
"Planting fruit trees is not just an environmental act—it’s about food security, livelihoods, and dignity for the people of Dambai."
— Asise Kepu Foundation (AKF)
